ORGANIC HASS AVOCADOS
HARVEST: JULY THROUGH NOVEMBER
Traceland Organic California Hass Avocados are picked at the point of perfection. Providing the most flavorful Hass Avocados on the Pacific Coast results from the amount of time they spend on the tree maturing. These delicious Central California Coast avocados are at their edible peak when allowed to ripen naturally without refrigeration. The unique geography and climate of the central coast provides favorable year round growing conditions for the fruit of these subtropical trees to fully mature before their hand-picked harvest.
THE LONGER THE AVOCADOS STAY ON THE TREES, THE BETTER THEY TASTE
Formed in April and May of the previous year and spending the entire winter on the tree “sizing up,” the avocados are harvested after 14-20 months of growth. Rock hard and green after picking, they slowly darken in about 7 to 10 days. After they are slightly soft to the “gentle squeeze,” they can be refrigerated for a week or more with little sacrifice in taste, but they are best enjoyed when ripened and eaten at room temperature, bringing out their unique, oily rich flavor and smooth texture. |
ENJOY OUR CLASSIC TRACELAND GUACAMOLE RECIPE
Guacamole, a dip made from avocados, is originally from Mexico. The name is derived from two Aztec words – ahuacatl (avocado) and molli (sauce). All you really need for Traceland Guacamole is our ripe Hass avocados, Bearss limes* and sea salt. Cut the avocados in half. Remove the seed. Scoop out the avocado from the peel, put it in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle with sea salt and lime juice. Using a fork, roughly mash the avocado. Don’t overdo it! The guacamole should be a little chunky. Enjoy!
